A few days ago, poets Pete Mladinic, who was a professor at NMJC for many years, and Jack Campbell interviewed Nancy Ramírez and me for their podcast, Lea County NM Voices, at the Lea County Museum in Lovington.
It was a wonderful experience sharing poems from Nancy’s bilingual book Dolor y Amor en Poesía (Pain and Love in Poetry), discussing The Novel Detective, and talking about our writing process.
The podcast is mostly in English, but it also has bilingual segments, including some of Nancy’s poems in Spanish. I hope you enjoy it!
As usual, the museum is such a warm and welcoming place. Thank you for opening your doors to us, and a big hug to Elaine Vigil for her constant support. Muchas gracias a Pete and Jack, of course!
After the reading, and because you have to feed both the soul and the stomach, Nancy and I headed to a restaurant right there in Lovington called El Cangrejo. Nancy ordered some yummy breaded shrimp, and I had fajitas, which were super sabrosas.

And here I am enjoying a virgin piña colada:

Happy end of October and almost Halloween!
