A visit to Taos

We just got back from Taos. It is always such a pleasure to return to our old stomping grounds, especially more so because we left so many good friends there.

This time we stayed at Casita de Paulita, our friend Paul’s place. There’s nothing better than staying in a house full of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels! Of course, when we came back, Miss Fluff sniffed all our clothes thoroughly!

As usual, food is an important part of our trips. Here at Orlando’s, with its super tasty blue corn shrimp enchiladas…

And the most delicious flan in the world.

I had the pleasure of visiting Teddie Zarazua, the second-grade teacher at Enos García School. I worked with her students, who wrote a beautiful book of poems. It will soon be available on Amazon and we will have a book signing together.

I also went shopping (because the only things I regret are those I haven’t bought) and got this dress in my favorite color at Steppin’ Out

If you are in Taos, do yourself a favor and try anything made with chocolate at Chokola in the John Dunn Plaza. I wrote an article about them for The Taos News many years ago, when they had just started. So happy that they are still in business and doing so well. Here my friend Laura and I are outside the store, sipping coffee with chocolate and cardamon.

Ah, the light of Taos… always the light… no wonder I can’t forget the place. We will always go back…
